A style refresh and website build

PhaseTwoCebu is a nonprofit organization jointly based out of Minnesota and the Philippines that supports community building projects in housing, literacy, education, and other areas of community needs in Cebu, Philippines. >Greater Though worked with PhaseTwoCebu to reimagine their website with a fresh new look that can help them connect with visitors in meaningful ways of engagement.

The Project Goals

The goals for this project centered around updating their style and website with a refreshed look as well as building trust with the community to inspire involvement.

  • Create a brand style that worked in tandem with with the existing logo
  • Rebuild the website, improving organization and user experience
  • Build a trusting relationship with their audience
  • Provide easy to understand resources and information on ways to engage

The Style

Color Usage

The colors utilized for this brand were chosen to complement the colors in the existing logo as well as to project a sense of trust and optimism. Gold was chosen as the central color to symbolize the work being done. A system of color blocking was used to create visual interest while conveying information clearly.

Icons

A system of icons was developed to represent PhaseTwoCebu’s four main focuses: housing, libraries, scholarships, and community building.

Imagery

All imagery used was sourced directly from those working on site in Cebu to showcase the real work being done in the community there and to show PhaseTwoCebu as it authentically is.

The Website

Donate & Engage

The Donate & Engage page provides a one stop shop for all the ways to get involved with PhaseTwoCebu. A viewer can easily navigate through all the options and decide what works best for them.

Within the Donate & Engage page, resources for hosting a book drive are provided in a media kit. This media kit includes an information sheet, an editable poster, an editable postcard, and a web banner to allow sponsors to easily spread the word about their book drive.

Building Trust through Authenticity

The website is also designed to provide examples of the important work that PhaseTwoCebu is doing. Showing results and outcomes that are helping to improve people’s lives was a real priority. The Work(what we do), the Impact(outcomes), and News & Stories pages provide a broad and diverse range of storytelling areas.

Outbound Marketing

Social Media and Search Marketing

Social media materials were created for PhaseTwoCebu to reach out and connect with their base directly. The social media reflects the style developed for the website. In addition, >Greater Thought helped the PhaseTwoCebu team acquire a Google Grant, which will be used in the future, in part, to do outreach marketing. A Google My Business page was setup and verified, and a future plan has been mapped for future marketing.
